Primarily we choose WordPress as it is simple to use, and is supported by a huge online community. If you can use Microsoft Word you can use WordPress!

WordPress is free can’t I just do this myself?

Yes WordPress is open-source and free. Yes, you could do this yourself. There are many online resources to help you do so. There is a learning curve however to make the most out of the system.
