Swantown Inn Bed & Breakfast

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

They say you always leave your own work until last. Sort of like the plumber that has a house with leaky pipes. Well anyway I finally got around to launching my own B&B’s new web site. It looks very similar to the old one, however like all my clients it uses a WordPress backend with a number of tweaks.

As always I do not sell myself as a graphic designer however with some decent photography and the correct info this site works really well.

Some of the improved features include;

  • Translation in to multiple languages
  • Twitter Integration
  • Blog for Inn’s Journal and Attractions
  • Specials and Packages
  • Google Map Integration

It is doing well with the Search engines, although this is not truly a competitive market for B&Bs. It does hit some nice phrases that I know no one else is targeting. It all makes for guests who are happy to discover us, and may travel a little further to get to us.

Gaylord House Bed & Breakfast

Monday, June 1st, 2009

We created a more fluid and easily navigable web site for Gaylord House. Some simple yet effective SEO techniques are now employed, with a better focus on the area they are located. We worked with some slim pickings as far as photography goes, however have achieved to represent the Inn appropriately.

One thing I always recommend is the use of a professional photographer. It always lifts a site to another level. However the reality is that most Innkeepers cannot afford to spend the money on such an expense.

Mayan Abdominal Massage

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

Rebecca Combs, Licensed Massage Therapist, needed a simple site that helped her get the word out for her unique style of massage. It was extremely simple to have her site place well for such unique search terms, especially teaming them up with Olympia.

Washington Bed & Breakfast Guild

Monday, March 30th, 2009

My volunteer role as Director of Technology (Webmaster) for the Washington Bed & Breakfast Guild, saw me aid in the development of the new WBBG web site. The majority of the work was done by Wild Cow Studios, whose owner is a good friend of mine.

I am now working with him on taking one of my long time ideas to the next level. Developing first a platform for bed and breakfast guild s and associations. Then a number of quality niche directories for primarily bed and breakfast inns.

If you are interested in any of this for your own association or guild no matter what the size, please contact us.

Unique Angles Photography

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

I love it when a client lets me run with an idea. In this case the client did not want to spend a lot, but wanted a better impact than he was achieving with his GoDaddy powered site.

So I said give me a go, I will find something that showcases your photography better, and makes it relatively simple to update the site.

So after a couple days of work I had implemented a premium theme, from StudioPress (why reinvent the wheel when their work is so great?), I launched the new site. Not all of the photography is there yet, but you can get a great idea of what it is now.

They specialize in Bed and Breakfast photography, and in fact took some of the photography that is on our B&B web site, and all the photography on the Day Spa site.
