Swantown Inn Bed & Breakfast

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

They say you always leave your own work until last. Sort of like the plumber that has a house with leaky pipes. Well anyway I finally got around to launching my own B&B’s new web site. It looks very similar to the old one, however like all my clients it uses a WordPress backend with a number of tweaks.

As always I do not sell myself as a graphic designer however with some decent photography and the correct info this site works really well.

Some of the improved features include;

  • Translation in to multiple languages
  • Twitter Integration
  • Blog for Inn’s Journal and Attractions
  • Specials and Packages
  • Google Map Integration

It is doing well with the Search engines, although this is not truly a competitive market for B&Bs. It does hit some nice phrases that I know no one else is targeting. It all makes for guests who are happy to discover us, and may travel a little further to get to us.

Koepsell Haus Bed & Breakfast

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

 We developed a simple yet effective web site for Koepsell Haus. Previously the Inn’s web site was a two page BBOnline version. The request was for a simple to navigate web site with the ability to add and edit specials and guest reviews.

Within a month of launching the site the Innkeeper was extremely happy with having her occupancy at the level she wanted for the following summer. This was achieved through copyrighting and other good SEO tactics, thus placing the site well within various search terms.

Swantown Inn Bed & Breakfast

Thursday, December 16th, 2004

This of course was the first Bed & Breakfast web site I had created. It is a constant work in progress as it is my own Inn. It is not perfect but it has helped achieve all the goals my wife and I set ourselves.

We immediately updated the old three page, three image web site the previous owners had created. Within two hours of taking possession of our Inn we had online availability (using Webervations), with our first online reservation that very night!

The site is a balance of information on the Inn, along with local activities.
